UNYSAB

UNYSAB is an UN based association promotes sustainable development throughout the region. they had 2 hours to move their 12GB data’s elsewhere without crashing the system (20GB Hosting). also had issues with the menubar, missing images, footer disappearance. moved server using ftp then implemented all fixes without harming their business. Here is the site on wayback machine.

Problems
  • The platform had 7000+ active users to serve and they had to move their site elsewhere in 2 hours.
  • Header and footer were missing from the site. Some of the images were missing from the pages.
  • The site was slow for the user. They needed speed optimization some advice throughout the
    transition.
Solutions:
  • Estimated backup size was 12GB, but the site was hosted had a 20GB hosting. So, I knew that if try to create a backup, it will fail. So, I’ve tried two different methods to collect the backup without dragging the site offline. Just to be on the safe side I downloaded some partial segment of the backup using wpvivid. Then used the ftp to copy the folder data. Then lastly downloaded some copies of the backup from Cpanel Backup Wizard and Jetbackups. Then sorted one by one to find the required files for new server and moved everything within the given time.
  • Couldn’t find the header and footer pages on the site/elemetor template section. So, I used wayback machine to find previous designs. Then designed the exact header-footer page in elementor and applied through the site. Manually replaced those missing images.
  • Implemented Litespeed and a free CDN and it gradually improved the site speed.
